Program Description
Experience two of Sri Lanka's greatest highlights on a full-day excursion combining the island's world-famous Ceylon tea with an unforgettable encounter with Asian elephants. This tour offers the perfect blend of local culture, scenic landscapes and incredible wildlife.
After hotel pick-up, travel to Akuressa or Handunugoda (depending on the number of participants) to visit a tea plantation and factory. Learn about the journey of Ceylon tea from freshly picked leaves to the finished product, and discover why tea production has become such an important part of Sri Lanka's heritage.
Continue to Udawalawe, where you'll have free time for lunch (at your own expense). Afterwards, embark on an exciting jeep safari through Udawalawe National Park, one of the best places in Sri Lanka to observe wild Asian elephants, as well as a variety of birds and other native wildlife in their natural habitat.
To conclude the day, visit an elephant transit home, where you'll have the opportunity to watch the elephants being fed and learn more about the conservation efforts dedicated to protecting these magnificent animals.
After the excursion, return to your hotel.

During the safari, we saw numerous elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, chameleons, mongooses, kingfishers, and even buffalo skulls. It was truly impressive how close the elephants approached us—always while maintaining complete safety. Special praise goes to the park guide, who proved to be incredibly sharp and observant—he was even able to spot a small lizard hidden among the tree branches during the off-road ride! The visit to the tea plantations was also incredibly interesting and magical in its own way. Everything was perfectly organized, and we felt comfortable and safe the entire time. We highly recommend this tour! The entire trip allowed us to experience the authentic Sri Lanka. We recommend it to anyone visiting the island.
