Program Description
Experience the atmosphere of Gion, one of Kyoto's most distinctive districts, on a 3-hour evening walking tour with a guide. After dark, traditional lanterns illuminate the narrow streets, giving the historic neighbourhood a unique character.
Walk through Kyoto's historic geisha district and see Hanamikoji Street, traditional teahouses, restaurants and bars. Explore quieter backstreets while learning about the history, architecture and customs associated with Gion.
The tour also includes Yasaka Shrine, one of the area's important historic landmarks. If you're lucky, you may spot a geiko or maiko on their way to entertain guests, although sightings are not guaranteed.
