Program Description
Budapest’s best-known landmarks have more to tell than meets the eye. Bridges connecting the banks of the Danube, landmarks rising above Buda and grand buildings lining the river are all part of the city’s history, which you’ll uncover step by step. Once you’ve discovered some of its most important chapters, it will be time to take in Budapest as a whole.
You’ll begin exploring on the historic Buda side. During a 3-hour bus tour, you’ll cross Margaret Bridge and head towards its most important landmarks. You’ll see Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church, as well as Gellért Hill. Each place reveals a different part of the city’s past, while your guide’s stories will help you understand how Budapest has evolved over the years.
After a few hours among the city’s landmarks, the tour will continue on the Danube. During a 1-hour Danube cruise, you’ll see the Hungarian Parliament Building, Margaret Island, the Castle District and the Citadel. Your guide’s stories will give way to views stretching along the river, as Budapest’s landmarks appear on both banks. This more relaxed end to the tour gives you time to simply enjoy the panorama of the Hungarian capital.
First the stories, then the views. This tour gives you the chance to get to know Budapest better before simply enjoying the city as it stretches along the Danube.
The order of the itinerary and the programme are subject to change.
