Your adventure begins with a drive to one of the most scenic and best-preserved sections of the Great Wall – Mutianyu. Surrounded by rolling hills, this part of the wall impresses not only with its scale but also with its more tranquil atmosphere compared to busier sections. You will have several hours to explore at your own pace – walk along the ancient stone pathways, admire breathtaking views, and imagine the lives of the soldiers who once guarded the empire. If you wish, You can enhance the experience by taking a cable car ride or enjoying a toboggan descent for a touch of excitement.
Next, you will visit the Summer Palace – a stunning royal residence of the Qing Dynasty. During a guided walk, you will immerse yourself in a world where nature and architecture exist in perfect harmony. Discover vast gardens, admire the famous Kunming Lake, and stroll along the longest covered corridor in the world – the Long Corridor, beautifully decorated with scenes from Chinese history and mythology. You will also see the iconic Marble Boat, a unique symbol of imperial elegance. For those interested, there is an option to enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the lake.
On the way back, you will pass by two of China’s most prestigious universities – Peking University and Tsinghua University. The tour ends near modern landmarks of Beijing – the National Stadium “Bird’s Nest” and the Water Cube.
