Program Description

Leave the bustle of the city behind and immerse yourself in the peaceful rhythm of life in the Mekong Delta - one of the most fertile and picturesque regions in Southeast Asia. During this excursion, you’ll discover local traditions, enjoy a Vietnamese lunch, take a boat ride, and even learn to cook authentic dishes.

Your day begins with a drive from Ho Chi Minh City to the town of Cai Be, located about 160 km away. On the way, you’ll stop briefly to admire the endless rice fields stretching across the horizon.

Upon arrival, you’ll board a motorboat and cruise along the Tien River to crossing through the famous Cai Be floating market. Enjoy the vibrant colours and scents, and even taste tropical fruits such as mango, coconut, or durian, all without leaving your boat.

The next stop is a local coconut candy workshop, where you’ll see how simple ingredients are turned into one of the region’s most beloved treats. Afterwards, take a short walk through nearby villages, soaking in the calm atmosphere of rural Vietnam. You’ll also enjoy a live performance of Đờn ca tài tử, a traditional form of Vietnamese chamber music that blends courtly and folk styles and is recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Then, cross by boat to Tan Phong Island, known for its lush fruit orchards and scenic paths. Here, you’ll participate in a Vietnamese cooking workshop, where you’ll prepare local specialities such as fish stewed in a clay pot or grilled in banana leaves.

To wrap up the day, enjoy a bike ride across the island, surrounded by gardens, fruit trees, and houses. After this day full of authentic experiences, you’ll return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Please note that the order of visits and the program may be subject to change.
