Program Description

On this excursion, you’ll discover a different side of Djerba – not only its beautiful beaches, but also its fascinating history and culture.

Travelling by coach, you’ll explore the island’s most interesting highlights. The first stop is El Kantara, a historic Roman causeway connecting Djerba with the African mainland. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding landscapes.

Next, you’ll visit Guellala, a town famous for its centuries-old pottery tradition. At the Museum of the Traditional Heritage of Djerba, you’ll learn about local customs, traditional clothing, and art, while gaining insight into life on Djerba over the centuries. Nearby, you’ll see workshops producing the island’s renowned ceramics.

The journey continues to Djerbahood in the village of Erriadh. In this open-air gallery, murals by artists from around the world adorn the walls of local houses. It’s a vibrant place, perfect for wandering and taking endless photos.

Finally, you’ll reach Houmt Souk, the island’s lively capital, where you’ll have free time to shop for souvenirs in the bustling bazaar or soak up the colourful atmosphere of this charming town.

Please note that the order of visits and the program may be subject to change.

Overall, it was a quick trip. A bit short on time in the town with the murals, where you could have bought some other interesting souvenirs.

The tour was generally good, but there are a few things that could be improved. The lack of the most popular mural of Aladdin in Djerbahood is a major drawback. It would be nice if the tour ...
