Program Description

A visit to Aegibong Peace Ecopark is a unique experience that allows you to see the history of the Korean Peninsula from a completely different perspective. Just a short drive from Seoul lies a place where you can look across the border into North Korea, separated only by a river and one of the most symbolic borders in the world. This tour combines history, reflection and striking landscapes.

Your journey begins with a drive to Gimpo City, where Aegibong Peace Ecopark is located. The park was created on the site of a former military observatory and has been transformed into a modern ecological and educational space that brings together nature, history and culture. On the way to the observatory, you will cross a suspension bridge, offering scenic views of the river and the surrounding borderland.

Next, you will visit the Peace Eco Exhibition Hall – an exhibition space dedicated to peace, ecology and the future of the Korean Peninsula. Here you can learn more about the history of Korea, the division of the peninsula and stories connected with the local region.

One of the most remarkable highlights of the tour is the Jogang Observatory, also known as the Starbucks Observatory. This viewpoint has recently become a popular attraction thanks to the Starbucks located closest to North Korea, only about 1.4 km from the border. From the observatory terrace you can enjoy views of the river, the surrounding fields and the North Korean landscape. Free telescopes are available on site, allowing you to take a closer look at the area across the border.

After visiting the park, you will head to Hyundai Premium Outlet Gimpo, a large shopping and leisure complex where you can enjoy some free time. It is the perfect place to explore shops, relax in cafés or try a variety of restaurants before returning to the city.

At the end of the tour, you will drive back to Seoul and the tour will conclude near City Hall.

The order of visits and the programme may change.
