Departure to Smederevo which was the capital and cultural center of 15th century Serbia. The most significant sights include the medieval fortress, summer residence of the Obrenovic dynasty and the main town square at the bank of river Danube. Before the tour proceed to the Danube gorge, better known as “The Iron Gate” we will be face to face with Golubac fortress built on high rock above the river. It is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the Balkans, where the Danube is the widest and nature is the greenest. The fortress and the surrounding area with museum exhibition center are newly opened for visitors. Next, visit of Djerdap National park and a walking route (approx. 1h30 min) to the viewpoint where the beautiful Djerdap gorge stretches out in front of us.
