Program Description

You will be greeted by our guide and embark on a journey through Cairo's rich history and culture. Your first stop will be the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), a newly opened museum that showcases Egypt's heritage from prehistoric times to the present day. Explore the museum's exhibits, which include artifacts, statues, and mummies, and learn about the country's fascinating history and civilization. Next, you will visit the Citadel of Salah ad-Din, a medieval Islamic fortification that offers panoramic views of Cairo. Explore the Citadel's attractions, including the Muhammad Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, with its stunning Ottoman architecture. Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor the flavors of authentic Egyptian cuisine. Finally, you will explore Old Cairo, also known as Coptic Cairo, home to some of the city's oldest Christian churches and sites. Visit the Hanging Church, the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, each with its own unique history and architectural style.
