Program Description

This tour gives You the opportunity to discover the historical side of Cyprus and travel back in time to the era of ancient cities and early Christianity. It’s a perfect choice if You want to explore places that have shaped the island’s rich and complex past.

You will begin with a visit to Salamis - an ancient city founded, according to legend, by Teucer after the Trojan War. Walking among the extensive ruins, You will see the ancient theatre, Roman baths, and gymnasium, which once formed the heart of social and cultural life. It’s a place where history feels truly alive.

Next, You will visit the Monastery of St. Barnabas - an important religious site dedicated to the patron saint of Cyprus. Dating back to the 5th century, the complex now serves as an icon museum and archaeological site. Here, You will explore the courtyard, church, and the tomb of St. Barnabas, all surrounded by a peaceful and reflective atmosphere.

The next stop is Famagusta, a city with a rich and turbulent history. Its impressive city walls immediately catch the eye, standing as a symbol of its former strength and importance. During a walk through its narrow, atmospheric streets, You will pass by landmarks such as the Othello Tower, connected to local legends and literary history.

At the end of the tour, You will stop at Constantia Beach, where You can enjoy panoramic views of the so-called “ghost town” - an abandoned district of Famagusta. This striking place serves as a reminder of the island’s more recent history and leaves a lasting impression.

After some free time, You will return to Your hotel with unforgettable memories and a deeper understanding of Cyprus.

The order of the visits and the programme may change.
