Get ready for a full-day adventure to Minca, a mountain village hidden among the lush hills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Here, fresh, cooler air provides respite from the Caribbean heat.
Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the changing landscapes of the Sierra Nevada. You’ll reach a traditional Colombian coffee farm run by a local family. Here, you’ll learn the entire process - from selecting the coffee cherries, to fermentation, drying and roasting. You will immerse yourself in the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and understand why Colombian beans are among the most valued in the world.
Next, you’ll hike along an ecological trail that leads to Cascada Escondida - a hidden waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. At the end of the trail, you can enjoy a peaceful moment in nature and even take a refreshing swim in the natural pools.
At lunchtime, you’ll arrive at the unique Jungle Joe bamboo house, where you’ll enjoy a delicious meal inspired by local ingredients. You’ll also learn why guadua - a type of bamboo known as “Colombian steel” - plays such an essential role in sustainable construction.
The final highlight of the tour is a cacao workshop, where you’ll discover the secrets of one of South America’s most iconic products. Learn about its history and health benefits, and make your own energy bar from roasted and ground cacao beans.
After a day full of new experiences, you’ll have a moment to relax and unwind before returning to Santa Marta.
